2019 100 Years a Lady
This wine was made in the honor of my Grandmother, Catherine Day, who turns 100 this September. Grandma is someone who has inspired and shaped me my whole life. I give her credit for my love of growing things and agriculture, and I appreciate the example she has set in living happily in a way that focuses on loving the people around her and not on material possessions. I am very fortunate to have such a strong, intelligent, resilient, patient, and kind woman as a role model my entire life.
The wine is 100% Pinot Meunier from Left Coast Cellars in the Van Duzer Corridor AVA and Twelve Oaks Vineyard in the Chehalem Mountains AVA. It was 1/3 whole cluster, and aged in 25% new French oak. Intensely pretty, with bright strawberry and rose aromas leaping from the glass, and tart cherry and flint-like stone on the palate. A perfect red wine for summer drinking.
